Barking Owl's High Country Sloe Gin is a jewel-toned liqueur born from the cool mountain slopes of Beechworth. We macerate hand-selected sloe berries with our signature blending gin, then marry the infusion with a delicate white sugar syrup to craft a spirit that captures the essence of Alpine fruit—deep, complex, and beautifully balanced. A modern take on a classic, with distinctly Victorian character.

🍸 How to Enjoy

Best served well-chilled as an aperitif, neat in a small crystal glass, or mixed into a classic Sloe Gin Fizz with prosecco and a twist of lemon. For a more indulgent serve, pour over a single large ice cube with a splash of tonic and a fresh sloe berry garnish.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Dark berries and ripe sloe up front, with black cherry underneath. Subtle gin botanicals — juniper and spice — beneath the fruit.

Palate

Rich sloe berry fruit with a full, rounded body. Gin structure and a bright acidity stop it getting cloying.

Finish

Berry fruit fades to a gentle dry spice. Warm and satisfying — lingers without overstaying its welcome.

Botanicals

Crafted with a carefully curated selection of native Australian and imported botanicals, each chosen for the character they bring to the still.

From the Still House

Sloe berries are macerated and cooked with white sugar syrup before blending with our blending gin, a traditional approach that extracts full fruit character while preserving the delicate botanicals of the base spirit.

Botanical Sources

Our sloe berries are sourced from cool-climate Victorian growers, selected for their intensity and ripeness. This selection ensures authentic depth while honouring the High Country terroir that defines Barking Owl's philosophy.
